The Rajasthan Royals (RR) ended their agonising three-match losing streak with a spectacular run chase to defeat the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by seven wickets. In a must-win encounter at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal led from the front before young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi unleashed absolute carnage, blasting a 38-ball 93. Chasing a mammoth 221, the Royals conquered the target with five deliveries to spare, leapfrogging into the top four of the points table and keeping their playoff destiny firmly in their own hands.

With regular captain Riyan Parag sidelined due to a hamstring injury and Ravindra Jadeja recovering from niggles, Yashasvi Jaiswal took the reins for the Royals, won the toss, and opted to bowl first. However, LSG openers Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis immediately put the hosts under extreme pressure. The Australian duo went completely berserk, making a mockery of the Royals' pace attack to amass 83 runs without loss in the Powerplay. They forged a spectacular 109-run opening stand that set a daunting tone. Inglis was the initial aggressor, bringing up his half-century in just 23 deliveries before eventually being clean-bowled by Yash Punja (2 for 35) for a blistering 60 off 29 balls, laced with seven boundaries and three sixes.
Mitchell Marsh continued his sensational run of form, anchoring the innings with pure power. LSG captain Rishabh Pant contributed a rapid 35 off 23 balls to keep the momentum going, while Nicholas Pooran added a quickfire 16 off 11. As the innings reached its climax, Marsh looked primed for a century. Heartbreakingly, he was run out on the penultimate delivery of the innings for a red-hot 96 off 57 balls (11 fours, 5 sixes). Jofra Archer (1 for 39) then castled Ayush Badoni on the final ball, restricting LSG to a formidable 220 for 5 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 221 required a monumental effort, and the Royals' openers accepted the challenge instantly. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi constructed a rapid 71-run partnership inside the Powerplay. Jaiswal led the initial charge with a 23-ball 43 (8 fours, 1 six) before falling to Akash Singh (1 for 54) immediately after the field restrictions were lifted.

Following his captain's departure, Sooryavanshi shifted into absolute overdrive. The young batter put on a scintillating display of clean ball-striking, smashing an incredible 10 towering maximums alongside 7 boundaries. He severely punished the LSG bowling attack, racing to 93 off just 38 deliveries at an astonishing strike rate of 244.74. He shared a crucial 100-plus run stand with Dhruv Jurel, completely taking the game away from Lucknow before eventually falling to Mohsin Khan (1 for 31).

Despite a brief stutter when debutant Lhuan-dre Pretorius (7) was run out, Dhruv Jurel showcased immense maturity. He dropped anchor to score a timely, unbeaten 53 off 38 deliveries (3 fours, 3 sixes), ensuring no late collapse occurred. Donovan Ferreira provided the finishing fireworks, powering an unbeaten 16 off 10 balls. Fittingly, Ferreira thumped Shahbaz Ahmed for a monstrous six down the ground in the 20th over to seal the sensational chase at 225 for 3 in just 19.1 overs.
