TATA IPL 2026, Match 32: LSG vs RR – Match Report
22 Apr, 2026
In a clinical display of bowling resilience and middle-order composure with the bat, Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured a dominant 40-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants in Match 32 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. After Ravindra Jadeja’s unbeaten 43 rescued the Royals from a precarious start to reach 159/6, a relentless bowling effort led by Jofra Archer’s 3/20 bundled out hosts LSG for 119.
Opting to field first on a surface that offered assistance to the seamers, LSG made early inroads through their pace battery. Mohd. Shami set the tone in the powerplay, dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal (22) and Dhruv Jurel (0) off consecutive deliveries.

Mohsin Khan further compounded RR's woes by removing the teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (8) and three wickets in the space of eight deliveries left RR reeling at 32/3 after four overs.
Skipper Riyan Parag (20) and Shimron Hetmyer (22) tried to arrest the short collapse, but were dismissed by Prince Yadav and Mohsin Khan respectively, in quick time, to leave RR stranded at 77/5. The LSG bowlers maintained relentless discipline, with Mohsin finishing his four overs with impressive figures of 2/17, including a maiden.
With their backs against the wall, Jadeja took charge of the RR innings. Displaying a mix of caution and calculated aggression, his unbeaten 43 off 29 balls acted as the backbone of the total. He found able partners in Shubham Dubey (19*) and Donovan Ferreira (20), and together they exploited a late lapse in LSG’s death bowling. A high-scoring final over, which went for 20 runs, propelled RR to a competitive 159/6 - a total that appeared defendable on the slow Ekana track.

Chasing 160, LSG’s pursuit began in disastrous fashion. Ayush Badoni fell to a mix-up with Mitchell Marsh and was thus run-out in the first over, before Nandre Burger struck to dismiss Rishabh Pant for a duck. When Aiden Markram (0) followed shortly after, caught off Jofra Archer, the home side was left stunned at 11/3 in the third over.

Marsh fought a solitary battle, striking a defiant 55 off 41 balls, including six boundaries and two towering sixes. However, he found no support from the other end. Nicholas Pooran (22) looked to rebuild but fell to the guile of Ravindra Jadeja, who finished with impressive figures of 29/1 in four overs to go with his batting exploits.
As the required rate climbed above 11, the LSG middle and lower middle order struggled to keep pace. Ravi Bishnoi and Brijesh Sharma picked up key wickets to dismantle the lower order, but it was Jofra Archer who provided the final blow. Returning for his second spell, Archer cleaned up the tail, dismissing Mayank Yadav - courtesy of a superb catch behind the stumps by Dhruv Jurel - and Mohsin Khan in the 18th over to secure a 40-run win for RR.

The victory marks a vital return to winning ways for Rajasthan Royals, solidifying their position in the top four. For Lucknow Super Giants, a fourth consecutive defeat and fifth overall in seven games leaves them in trouble as the tournament gradually heads into its business end.
