Mitchell Marsh’s Mayhem and Akash Singh’s 'Note' Celebration Steal the Show as LSG Crush CSK by 7 Wickets
Before the high-octane clash commenced, cricket took a backseat for a poignant moment. Both teams took the field wearing black armbands and observed a minute's silence to pay their respects to the victims of the devastating hailstorm that struck Uttar Pradesh. When play began, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), despite being out of the playoff race, played fearless cricket to completely dismantle the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). A dominant 7-wicket victory was set up by a fiery bowling spell from Akash Singh and an absolute batting masterclass by Mitchell Marsh.

LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that paid rich dividends early on thanks to left-arm pacer Akash Singh.

Akash (3 for 26) ripped through the star-studded CSK top order inside the Powerplay. He dismissed captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (13), the dangerous Sanju Samson (20), and the in-form Urvil Patel (6). His wickets were accompanied by a unique, viral celebration - after each scalp, Akash pulled out a small piece of paper from his pocket and held it up. The note proudly read: "#Akkionfire - Akash knows how to take wickets in a T20 game."
Reeling at 52 for 3 in the 8th over, CSK desperately needed a rescue mission. The highly-rated uncapped youngster Kartik Sharma stepped up, playing an incredibly mature and aggressive knock. He stitched a crucial 70-run stand for the fourth wicket with Dewald Brevis (25 off 16). Kartik brought up his second IPL half-century and eventually smashed a brilliant 71 off 42 deliveries, laced with six boundaries and five towering sixes.

In the death overs, Shivam Dube provided the trademark finishing impetus. Dube blazed his way to an unbeaten 32 from just 16 balls, guiding CSK to a highly competitive 187 for 5 in their 20 overs.
Chasing 188 on a surface that typically slows down, LSG made an absolute mockery of the target, driven by a spectacular opening assault from Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis.
The Australian duo forged a mammoth 135-run opening stand, amassing a staggering 86 runs in the Powerplay alone. Marsh was in a purely punishing mood. He took pacer Anshul Kamboj to the cleaners in the fifth over, smashing four consecutive sixes and a boundary to plunder 28 runs.

Marsh reached his half-century in just 21 deliveries and looked destined for a well-deserved century. However, extreme heartbreak ensued when he was on 90 (off just 38 balls, including 9 fours and 7 sixes). A powerful straight drive from Nicholas Pooran was tipped onto the stumps at the non-striker's end by bowler Mukesh Choudhary, catching a backing-up Marsh agonisingly short of his crease.
Despite the unlucky dismissal, the damage was irreversible. Nicholas Pooran ensured there were no late hiccups, smashing a quickfire 32 off 17 balls, embellished with four maximums. LSG comfortably chased down the target, finishing at 188 for 3 in just 16.4 overs.

Mitchell Marsh was the undisputed star of the night. His explosive 90 (38) completely broke the back of the run chase and demoralised the opposition bowlers, making a tricky 188-run chase look like a walk in the park.
