Josh Hazlewood is a premier Australian fast bowler known for his relentless accuracy, steep bounce, and disciplined line and length. On the international stage, he is a multi-format spearhead with over 500 career wickets, including 295 in Tests, 142 in ODIs, and 79 in T20Is. He has been instrumental in Australia's global dominance, playing a pivotal role in their 2015 and 2023 ODI World Cup triumphs, as well as their 2021 T20 World Cup victory. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Hazlewood has established himself as an elite pace option and a proven champion, having won the tournament twice. He claimed his first IPL title in 2021 while representing the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). After initially playing for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2022 and 2023, the franchise secured his return during the 2025 mega auction for a massive ₹12.50 Crore. This investment paid off immediately, as Hazlewood delivered an exceptional 2025 campaign, claiming 22 wickets in just 12 matches to help RCB secure their historic maiden IPL title.Across his IPL career, he has taken 57 wickets at an excellent average of 20.98 and a career economy rate of 8.28, highlighted by best bowling figures of 4/25. Recognizing his crucial championship impact and his ability to control the powerplay, RCB officially retained the veteran fast bowler ahead of the 2026 season.
