Phil Salt is an English wicketkeeper-batter recognized for his aggressive top-order run-scoring. Internationally, he was part of England's 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup-winning squad. He holds the record as the first English men's player to score back-to-back T20I centuries, highlighted by a career-best 119 against the West Indies. He currently maintains an impressive international T20 strike rate of 165.89. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Salt has proven to be an elite powerplay enforcer. After making his debut with the Delhi Capitals in 2023, he joined the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2024. During that season, he played a crucial role in KKR's championship victory, scoring 435 runs in 12 matches at a formidable strike rate of 182.01. Recognizing his high-impact scoring ability, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) acquired him for ₹11.50 Crore during the 2025 mega auction. He delivered an excellent 2025 campaign for RCB, amassing 403 runs at a strike rate of 175.98 to help the franchise secure their historic maiden IPL title. Across his 34-match IPL career, Salt has scored 1,056 runs with an exceptional overall strike rate of 175.71. Due to his consistent top-order dominance, RCB officially retained him ahead of the 2026 season.
