MatchesTim David is an explosive middle-order batter and specialized finisher. Born in Singapore, he initially began his international career representing the Singapore national team in 2019. He later transitioned to represent Australia in 2022, bringing his powerful ball-striking to their white-ball setup. Across his international career for both nations, he has accumulated over 1,600 runs in T20Is and has represented Australia in multiple ICC Men's T20 World Cups. He began his Indian Premier League (IPL) career with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2021, making history as the first international player from Singapore to feature in the tournament. He was subsequently acquired by the Mumbai Indians in 2022 for ₹8.25 Crore, where he spent three seasons establishing himself as a consistent lower-order hitter. During the 2025 mega auction, RCB brought him back to the franchise for ₹3 Crore. He immediately played a highly effective role in helping RCB secure their historic maiden IPL title in 2025. Operating as a dedicated finisher, he enjoyed a highly productive campaign, scoring 187 runs in 12 matches at an excellent average of 62.33 and a rapid strike rate of 185.15. His standout performance of the season was an unbeaten 50 against the Punjab Kings. Across his 50-match IPL career, David has amassed 846 runs with an impressive overall strike rate of 173.36. Acknowledging his clarity in the finishing role and his vital run-scoring contributions during the 2025 title run, the franchise officially retained him ahead of the 2026 season.
