Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of India’s premier swing bowlers, renowned for his elite death-bowling. Internationally, he has claimed 294 wickets and holds the unique distinction of being the first Indian to register five-wicket hauls in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. He was a vital part of India’s 2013 ICC Champions Trophy-winning squad and boasts a highly economical T20I career rate of 6.96. In the IPL, Bhuvneshwar is a two-time champion and an undisputed tournament legend. He won his first title with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016 and his second with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2025. He remains the only bowler to win consecutive Purple Caps, taking 23 wickets in 2016 and 26 in 2017. Furthermore, he holds the all-time tournament record for the most dot balls bowled (1793). Acquired by RCB for ₹10.75 Crore, he took 17 wickets to help drive their historic 2025 title run. Recognizing his immense championship impact, RCB officially retained the veteran spearhead for the 2026 season.
