MatchesBorn in Edapal, Kerala, Devdutt Padikkal represents Karnataka in the domestic cricket. A product of the system, Padikkal has risen through the ranks; he represented India Under-19 and soon after, earned a call-up to the Karnataka Ranji Trophy side. He made a stroke-filled 77 on his Ranji Trophy debut against Maharashtra in November 2018. Padikkal was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs. Lakhs at the player auction prior to IPL 2019 and that proved to be a game-changer. In his debut season in 2020, he amassed 473 runs with 5 fifties and in 2021, he scored 411 runs with 1 century and 1 fifty. Ahead of the 15th season, he was always going to be hot property at the auction and after an intense bidding war, it was RR who were successful in securing his services. In his first year with RR, Padikkal scored 376 runs and was retained ahead of the 2023 auction.
