M Ashwin, who spent several years as a net bowler for Chennai Super Kings, rose to prominence after attracting a huge bid from Rising Pune Supergiants in 2015. After being snapped up by Delhi, the leg-spinner was picked up by Punjab Kings for INR 20 lakhs ahead of IPL 2019. While he played 10 games, he struggled to find wickets as he could manage only 5 dismissals to his name but made a decent comeback scalping 10 wickets in the 9 matches he played for PBKS in 2020. Ahead of the 15th season of the IPL, he was picked up by MI for 1.6 crore. There is an element of surprise in his bowling and batters need to be watchful while trying to be aggressive against him. It will be interesting to see how he shapes up in the 15th season.
