Shubman Gill first grabbed attention as Player of the Tournament in India’s victorious 2018 ICC Men’s U19 World Cup campaign. Earmarked early for big things, he has since evolved into one of the most prolific batters of his generation. His rise in international cricket was marked by a defining contribution in his maiden Test series in Australia, where he scored a fluent 91 in India’s historic run chase at the Gabba in 2021, taking on the likes of Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc. Gill already boasts double centuries in both ODIs and Tests, along with a T20I hundred — a testament to his all-format pedigree and adaptability. Before his move to Gujarat Titans, he spent four seasons with Kolkata Knight Riders, finishing as their leading run-scorer in 2021 with 478 runs. Since joining GT in 2022, Gill has been the cornerstone of their batting line-up, headlined by a staggering 890-run campaign in 2023, which included three centuries. Appointed captain in 2024, Gill led Gujarat to a third-place finish in 2025. He has since advanced further to become India’s full-time Test and ODI captain. In his most recent feats, Gill scored 269 against England in Birmingham, the highest score by an Indian captain in Test cricket. In TATA IPL 2026, Gill’s form will again be crucial for GT.
