Ramesh Kumar is a young 23-year old spin bowling all-rounder from Punjab. He is yet to play any representative cricket but the Kolkata Knight Riders management have roped him into the side for his abilities to spin the ball both ways. Apart from his spin bowling abilities, Ramesh has a reputation of being a hard-hitting batter in tennis-ball tournaments. After garnering attention in tennis-ball cricket, his friends urged him to play with leather ball as well, which led him to play district cricket for Moga where he emerged as one of the best bowlers. After brushing shoulders with all-rounder Gurkeerat Mann in a Punjab state camp in 2021, Mann sent Ramesh’s bowling videos to KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. Ramesh was called for trials by KKR and was ultimately picked in the IPL Auction for INR 20 Lakh.
