About

One of Team India’s premier fast bowler, Mohammed Siraj has risen through the ranks with each passing match. His show with red and white ball has been the talk of the circuit and his consistency in bowling was rewarded when he was retained by the RCB ahead of the 2022 edition of the league. The RCB retained the pacer for INR 7 crores. The fast bowler from Hyderabad, Siraj made headlines in 2017 when his services were acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 2.60 cr. The son of an auto-rickshaw driver, Siraj has worked his way up into the national team rather quickly. He started playing leather ball cricket only in 2015, and within 2 years of domestic cricket, he was donning his country's national colours. In the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy season, he was Hyderabad's highest wicket-taker with 41 wickets from 9 matches, ending up as the joint third highest wicket taker. He has a knack for taking wickets and that was apparent in his debut IPL season, where he took 10 wickets from 6 games. The RCB think-tank saw enough potential in the youngster and bought him at the IPL 2018 Player Auction for INR 2.20 cr.
