Rishabh Pant is an Indian left-handed wicketkeeper-batter who anchors the middle order. He is recognized for his highly aggressive strokeplay and his ability to counter-attack against both pace and spin. In Test cricket, he holds the record as the fastest Indian wicketkeeper to reach 1,000 runs and the first Indian wicketkeeper to score Test centuries in England and Australia. Across his international career, he has accumulated 3,476 runs in 49 Tests at an average of 42.91 with eight centuries, alongside 871 runs in 31 ODIs and 1,209 runs in 76 T20Is. He was also a core member of the Indian squad that won the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup and 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Pant established his statistical profile during an extended tenure with the Delhi Capitals before making history at the 2025 mega auction. The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) acquired him for a record-breaking ₹27 Crore, making him the most expensive player in IPL history. LSG officially retained him at ₹27 Crore to continue leading the side ahead of the 2026 season. Across his 125-match IPL career to date, Pant has compiled 3,553 runs, registering two centuries and 19 half-centuries.
