Sri Lankan left-arm speedster Dilshan Madushanka has rapidly ascended to become one of the most lethal exponents of the new ball in modern-day limited-overs cricket. Known for his ability to swing the ball sharply into the right-hander at pace, the 25-year-old made the world take notice during the 2023 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup, where he finished as one of the tournament's leading wicket-takers with 21 scalps, including a memorable five-wicket haul against India. Ever since making his T20I debut in 2022, Madushanka has represented Sri Lanka across all three formats in international cricket. The young pacer was added to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s squad for TATA IPL 2026 as an injury replacement for Brydon Carse. Though still uncapped in the IPL, Madushanka was part of the Mumbai Indians squad for the 2024 season before an injury unfortunately ended his season early. He will be keen to make his opportunity count, if he gets to play, and learn from experienced campaigners like Pat Cummins, Jaydev Unadkat, and Harshal Patel, among others.
