TATA IPL 2026, Match 12: KKR vs PBKS – Match Report
06 Apr, 2026
Intense rain and a persistent drizzle forced Match 12 of the TATA IPL 2026 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) to be called off at the Eden Gardens. Despite a promising start and a high-voltage atmosphere in the City of Joy, the weather had the final say, leading to both teams splitting the points.
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to bat first, seeking to capitalize on the home conditions. The innings began with intent, but PBKS seamer Xavier Bartlett produced a sensational opening spell to put the hosts on the back foot immediately.

Bartlett struck twice in the second over, dismissing the dangerous Finn Allen (6) and Cameron Green (4) in quick succession. While the early wickets jolted the KKR dugout, Rahane remained unbeaten 8 off 6 balls*, supported by young Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who moved to 7 off 7 balls*.
At 25/2 in 3.4 overs, a heavy downpour forced the players off the field. Despite the best efforts of the Eden Gardens ground staff and a brief window where the covers were removed, a second wave of rain rendered the outfield unplayable.
With the match officially abandoned, both teams received one point each. Kolkata Knight Riders will remain at home to face Lucknow Super Giants on April 09 while the Punjab Kings will travel back hoe to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 11
