Dream11 IPL 2020, Match 33: RR vs RCB – Preview

Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will kickstart the proceedings of the third double-header weekend of the Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 when they square off in Match 33 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Both the teams will be eyeing a winning return. While RR lost their last game against Delhi Capitals (DC), RCB were beaten by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in their last game but occupy a spot in the top four having registered five wins from eight games. Meanwhile, RR are currently on the seventh position in the points table having won three matches.

In their last meeting, it was RCB who had come out on top. While RCB will be eager to make it 2-0 against RR in IPL 2020, the Steve Smith-led unit will be itching to level the head-to-head scores and in the process, register their fourth win of the season.

Here are the players who could make a difference in this clash:

Jos Buttler

The audacious Jos Buttler was on display against DC before his inning ended a little prematurely on 22 off 9 balls. But his trademark pick-up six and scoops against Anrich Nortje did indicate that the wicketkeeper-batsman was in good touch. RR will expect him to go big against RCB.

Virat Kohli

The Virat Kohli batting juggernaut continued to roll as the RCB skipper scored a steady 48 against KXIP. The right-hander has close to 290 runs against his name in his last five innings and will once again be someone that RCB will bank on to power the team through.

Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer was on fire with the ball against DC. There was pace, bounce, movement and there were wickets too. The right-arm pacer, who scalped three while conceding only 19 runs, let the ball rip and struck twice in the powerplay and when brought back into the attack, added one more wicket to his account. If he fires against the batting might of Virat, AB de Villiers and Aaron Finch, RR will be in with a chance to win their fourth match.

Chris Morris

Chris Morris hammered a quickfire 25* off 8 balls against KXIP and was impressive with the ball, conceding just 22 runs from his four overs. The South African all-rounder can tonk the ball. He can bowl at any stage of the game and with his pace and ability to move the ball, he will be key to RCB’s success.

Devdutt Padikkal

While he did not score many in RCB’s last game against KXIP, Devdutt Padikkal had scored an impressive half-century when RCB faced RR earlier this season. The young left-handed batsman will be looking to score his fourth half-century as RCB take on RR.

Wild Card

Ben Stokes

While he missed out on a half-century, Ben Stokes had a good game time in the middle with the bat against DC. The all-rounder opened the batting for RR in their last two games and may be asked to continue in the same role to set the tone for his side. If he fires, it will make for a fascinating viewing.
