The Supernovas will clash with Velocity in the Final of the Women’s T20 Challenge.
The two teams met earlier on Thursday night; in that contest – at the end of which the two finalists were identified – the Supernovas prevailed by 12 runs.
Both teams have registered one win and one loss so far in the competition. The Supernovas lost to the Trailblazers on the opening night before defeating Velocity in the final round-robin match to earn passage to the Final. Velocity meanwhile defeated Trailblazers on Wednesday afternoon, before losing to Supernovas.
In the Supernovas line-up, the batters to look out for are Jemimah Rodrigues, captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Sophie Devine. Young Jemimah, who bats at number three, has been in scintillating form with the bat in recent times and has had two impressive outings in the competition; she made a brisk 24 off 19 balls against the Trailblazers and followed it up with a classy unbeaten 77 (48 balls) against Velocity.
Young Shafali Verma – who set up the win against the Trailblazers, Danielle Wyatt – who has made 40s in both hits in the competition, and captain Mithali Raj will be the key betters for Velocity.
On the bowling front, the Supernovas will hope the two Yadavs - Radha and Poonam – can once again tie down the batters. In the Velocity line-up, Shikha Pandey will be expected to provide the early breakthrough, while Ekta Bisht and Amelia Kerr will be expected to boss the middle overs.
