|Bowls||Right-arm medium fast|
|DOB||12 February 1984|
It’s not often that despite bowling in the shadows of Zaheer Khan, an inexperienced medium pacer emerges as his team’s top wicket-taker in the tournament. Vinay Kumar did just that in IPL 2012, picking up 19 wickets in 15 matches. Vinay, who has represented India in 31 ODIs, got his Test cap during the 2011-12 tour of Australia. Royal Challengers Bangalore recognised his talent and had him in their ranks for the first three seasons of the IPL. After a year with the now defunct Kochi franchise, he was taken back by RCB in the 2012 IPL Player Auction and then in the auction ahead of the 2014 season. RCB traded him to MI ahead of the 2015 season.
