Haryana’s Harshal Patel was the discovery of the 2011-12 Indian domestic season. He bagged an impressive 19 wickets in the Ranji Trophy knockout phase. A few years ago, he had achieved a similar feat when he took 23 wickets at an average of 11 in the domestic U-19 competition. The Mumbai Indians saw a lot of promise in this 21-year-old swing bowler and signed him in the U-19 category a few years ago. The Royal Challengers Bangalore signed him on before IPL 2011 in which he warmed the bench throughout the season before eventually making his debut in IPL 2012.
