Profile
| Birth Date | 28 August 1983 |
| IPL debut | 2009 |
In an era when coaches emphasise on correct technique, Lasith Malinga has anything but that. His slingy round-arm action can be tough to read. His pace, his ability to generate bounce and his reverse swing render opposition batsmen clueless at times. He picked up four wickets in four deliveries in the 2007 ICC World Cup. He also holds the record for the most bowled dismissals in Twenty20 cricket. After missing IPL 2008 due to a knee injury, he was at his devastating best in IPL 2009. In IPL 2010, he carried the Mumbai Indians to the final. He won the Purple Cap (awarded to the leading wicket-taker in the league stage of every season) in IPL 2011.
