Trinidad’s Kieron Pollard is an absolute entertainer. This big-hitting batsman, capable of clearing most cricket grounds, announced his arrival at the 2009 CLT20 when he scored 146 runs in five innings at a strike-rate of close to 200. A genuine all-rounder, he lends balance to the team. His tall frame, athletic build, powerful forearms and broad shoulders make him a very good fielder too. Pollard was one of Mumbai Indians’ star performers in IPL 2010, but he had a modest outing in 2011 and 2012. However, he came back with a bang the following year, scoring 420 runs and picking up 10 wickets from 18 matches in IPL 2013 as MI surged to the title. He was one of MI's retained players ahead of the IPL Player Auction, 2014. He scored 419 runs and his S/R of 163.67 meant MI always finished with a bang. A big match player, Pollard proved his worth by smashing 41 off just 17 balls in Qualifier 1 and followed it up with 36 from 18 balls in the big final. MI will once again turn to him to take them to a position of dominance with his lusty blows.
