Profile
| Birth Date | 04 December 1977 |
| IPL debut | 2008 |
This Mumbai seamer became the fastest to get to the 50-wicket mark in ODIs, making his debut in 1998. His wicket-taking ability, along with his efficient batting in the lower order, compelled experts to draw comparisons with Kapil Dev. However, injuries derailed his progress and he couldn’t quite live up to all these expectations. Agarkar bowls brisk medium pace and can move the ball both ways. He is also capable of getting the ball to skid off the track with his quick-arm action. A very good outfielder, Agarkar also has a good throwing arm and can fire in throws from the boundary. He also happens to be one of the few Indian batsmen to have scored a Test century at Lord’s. He was with the Kolkata Knight Riders during the first three seasons of the IPL, but was roped in by the Delhi Daredevils at the IPL Player Auction 2011. In the just concluded Ranji Trophy (2012-13) season he added yet another cap to his feather by leading Mumbai to the title in his first season at the helm of things.
