From Uthappa’s streak to Saha’s landmark ton, here are some rare stats from this season

1 Kolkata Knight Riders’ Shakib Al Hasan was the only player to score 200 runs and take 10 wickets in the tournament.

2 Number of hat-tricks in this edition – both came for Rajasthan Royals bowlers, and both were recorded at Ahmedabad – one each by Pravin Tambe and Shane Watson.

3 Number of centuries scored in the tournament – one each by Lendl Simmons, Virender Sehwag and Wriddhiman Saha.

4 Number of batsmen Pravin Tambe dismissed for a duck – most by a bowler in the tournament.

8.20 The rate at which runs were scored in the tournament – second best after the inaugural edition in 2008 when the overall run-rate was 8.30.

9 When Kolkata Knight Riders beat Kings XI Punjab in the Final, it was their ninth win in a row – longest winning streak for any team in IPL history.

10 Number of consecutive innings in which Robin Uthappa scored at least 40 runs – longest such streak in T20 history.

13.30 Mumbai Indians’ run-rate in the last league match, against Rajasthan Royals – highest for a side chasing a target of 150 or more in IPL history.

15 Number of balls taken by Yusuf Pathan to race to his 50 against Sunrisers Hyderabad – the fastest half-century in IPL history.

18 Number of maiden overs bowled in the tournament – Akshar Patel, Sandeep Sharma and Ishwar Pandey bowled two each.

22 Number of sixes conceded by Pragyan Ojha in the tournament – most by a bowler in a single edition of IPL.

23 Number of wickets taken by Mohit Sharma in the tournament – most by a bowler.

33 Runs conceded by Kings XI Punjab’s Parwinder Awana in an over (6th of the innings) against Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 2. Suresh Raina scored 32 of them (2 sixes, 5 fours), while one was an extra. This was the joint second-most expensive over in IPL history. Only Prashanth Parmeshwaran – playing for Kochi Tuskers Kerala, against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2011 – conceded more in one over in an IPL game.

36 Number of sixes hit by Glenn Maxwell in the tournament. At one stage, he had struck 29 maximums in his first 8 games!

54 Number of ducks recorded in the tournament. Kolkata Knight Riders had the most (15).

100 Chennai Super Kings’ total after the first six overs in Qualifier 2 against Kings XI Punjab – highest powerplay total in IPL history.

115 Wriddhiman Saha’s score in the Final – first batsman to score a 100 in an IPL Final. His tally was also the highest in a T20 tournament final.

348 Suresh Raina’s strike-rate (87 off 25 balls) against Kings XI Punjab in Qualifier 2 – highest for any batsman in T20 history in an innings of 20 balls or more.

660 Runs scored by Robin Uthappa in the tournament – most by an Indian batsman in a single edition of IPL.

671 Number of wickets that fell in the tournament. The break-up: 403 caught, 142 bowled, 65 run-outs, 36 LBW and 25 Stumps.

714 Number of sixes hit in the tournament – only the second time the sixes tally crossed 700 in a single edition of IPL. The 2012 edition saw 731 sixes, but there were 15 more matches that year.

18909 Runs scored in 60 matches in the tournament. 17922 came from the bat and 987 were extras.
