IPL Chairman-led delegation tours historic cricket venue
IPL Chairman and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Planning, Rajeev Shukla, led a Parliamentary delegation that toured the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Thursday. The Indian representatives were hosted by Jamie Barkley (Trust Chief Executive Officer) and Dominic Perrottet MP (who was representing New South Wales’ Sports Minister, Graham Annesley) at the SCG.
The
delegation was shown around the famous SCG Museum and the Members Pavillion,
which included the home and away dressing rooms. During the tour, the group
also witnessed SCG’s Honour Board of overseas Test players, which bears the
names of Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman, who have both scored centuries at
this venue.
The
delegation then made its way to the centre of the historic cricket ground.
Here, Mr. Shukla met with Australian pacer Pat Cummins, who is currently undergoing
rehabilitation after a back injury. The fast bowler even discussed his return
to first-class cricket with Mr. Shukla during their chat.
