Feroze shah Kotla to host Qualifier 1 and Eliminator of IPL 2013

The Qualifier I and Eliminator of the ongoing Pepsi IPL 2013, will be played at the Feroze shah Kotla Ground, Delhi, on Tuesday, 21 May 2013, and Wednesday, 22 May 2013, respectively. The Feroze shah Kotla Ground is the home venue of the Delhi Daredevils, who topped the league stage in the 2012 edition of the IPL.
The team ranked first at the end of the league stage of the Pepsi IPL 2013, will play the team ranked second, in Qualifier I, at 8:00 pm on 21 May 2013. The winner of this game will qualify for the Pepsi IPL 2013 final.
The team ranked third at the end of the league stage, will play the team ranked fourth, in the Eliminator, at 8:00 pm on 22 May 2013.
The winner of the Eliminator will play the loser of Qualifier 1, in the third playoff (Qualifier 2), at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on Friday, 24 May 2013.
The final of the Pepsi IPL 2013, between the winners of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2, will be played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on Sunday, 26 May 2013.
Batting legend to be part of Delhi franchise in ambassadorial and advisory role

Sir Vivian Richards, the original Master Blaster and one of the most intimidating batsmen in cricket’s history, joined the Delhi Daredevils in an ambassadorial and advisory role on Friday.
“I am looking forward to working with the Delhi Daredevils this season,” Sir Viv said after his maiden interaction with the team. “I know the team has many players of proven quality and others who have immense talent and hunger to succeed at this level and higher. It will be a great experience for me to be their sounding board and inspire them to deliver quality performances.”
GMR Sports Chairman Kiran K Grandhi said the decision to rope in Sir Viv was in keeping with the policy to give the squad the best support it can possibly get. “As owners of the Delhi Daredevils, we have always got together the best support staff. I’m sure our fans will also be very excited that Sir Viv is with the squad.”
GMR Sports Pvt Ltd Head (Cricket) and Delhi Daredevils Team Mentor TA Sekar said the squad will have the opportunity to be inspired by Sir Viv. “There are a number of youngsters in the squad who can make the most of the opportunity to interact with Sir Viv and evolve as cricketers. He was keen to be with the team at the start of the season but he had prior commitments and could join us only now.
“One of Wisden’s Five Cricketers of the Century and rated by many, including Sir Ian Botham and Shane Warne, as the best batsman they ever saw, he set amazing standards for himself with the bat and on the field in his playing days,” Sekar said. “It is our pleasure and privilege to welcome Sir Viv.”
