The main course may not have been to their liking but the desert was absolutely delicious for the Kings XI Punjab. Although their team lost to the Mumbai Indians in Match 33 of DLF IPL 2012 earlier in the evening, the support staff and other members of the Kings XI Punjab beat the IPL team in a 10-over-a-side match by 13 runs at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium here.

Opting to bat first, the Mohit Khanna-led KXIP posted 80 runs in their stipulated overs with the top three batsmen scoring in double-digits. Abhishek, who top-scored for KXIP with 19* and hit two boundaries, received the Man-of-the-Match award for his effort, while Adrian received the best bowler award. Bhiren was the recipient of the best catch award.

The best batsman prize went to the opposition skipper, Mr. Anurag Thakur, Hon. Jt. Secretary, BCCI. He scored 29 runs off 23 balls. However, despite their captain’s efforts, the IPL team was unable to chase down the 81-run target.
The trophy was presented to the winning team by Anurag Thakur.
