    Spectacular Gayle sets IPL records tumbling

    3 Chris Gayle became the first batsman to score three hundreds in IPL, moving ahead of Adam Gilchrist and David Warner who have scored two hundreds each.

    12 Number of Man-of-the-Match awards won by Gayle – the most by any player in IPL. He moved ahead of Yusuf Pathan’s tally of 11 awards

    13 Number of sixes hit by Gayle, equaling the IPL record for most sixes in a match. Kolkata Knight Riders’ Brendon McCullum had also hit 13 sixes, against Royal Challengers Bangalore, in the first ever IPL match in 2008.

    57 Number of sixes hit by Gayle in IPL 2012 – the most by any batsman in a single edition of IPL. Gayle bettered his own record of 44 sixes in 2011.
