Dimitri’s five-for; Marsh’s fifty; KXIP’s first win

1 Kings XI Punjab registered their first win against Pune Warriors India in four attempts. This was also their first win of IPL 2012.
2 Number of times Pune Warriors India have been bowled out in 16 innings in IPL. The other such instance was when PWI were dismissed for 118 against Mumbai Indians in 2011.
2 Dimitri Mascarenhas (five for 25) became the second bowler to take a five-wicket haul in IPL 2012 after Chennai Super Kings’ Ravindra Jadeja. His figures are also the best by a Kings XI Punjab bowler in IPL.
5 Number of run outs Sourav Ganguly has been involved in. Interestingly, Ganguly’s partners were run out on four of these occasions while Ganguly perished just once.

28 Runs conceded by Virat Kohli in the penultimate over of the match – the most expensive over in IPL 2012. 27 runs were conceded in one over bowled by two bowlers, Harmeet Singh and Bipul Sharma, against Pune Warriors on April 8. Interestingly, that was also the penultimate over of the innings.
45 Runs scored by Chennai Super Kings batsmen in the last two overs – the most in IPL history. Kolkata Knight Riders’ batsmen had scored 43 runs off the last two overs (19th and 20th) of the innings in the first ever IPL match, against Royal Challengers Bangalore, in 2008. 76 Number of sixes hit by Chris Gayle in just 30 innings in IPL. Now only Gilchrist (83) and Suresh Raina (82) are ahead of him on this count. 109 Runs added by Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli for the second wicket – the first century partnership for any wicket in IPL 2012.
208 for five by Chennai Super Kings – the second highest successful chase in IPL history, after Rajasthan Royals’ 217 for seven against Deccan Chargers in 2008.
400 Albie Morkel’s strike-rate (28 runs off seven balls) – the highest in an innings of more than five balls.
